CREATIVE
WRITING
FOR
TEENS

HEY, WRITER!

We built this program for you–the teen writer with too many ideas and not enough space to let them rip.
School wants essays and neat little paragraphs about what you did on the weekend. Cool, fine, whatever. But where’s the space to write about dragons, heartbreak, monsters, secret crushes, or the apocalypse you daydream about in maths?

That’s why this creative writing program exists.

This isn’t about being ‘good.’ It’s about being bold. Weird. Messy. Brilliant. Sometimes all at once. You’ll make characters who bleed and break, build worlds that bite back, and throw your stories into chaos, because that’s how writing gets exciting.
Here, you’ve got full permission to suck. To write the awkward drafts. To try things that crash and burn. Because every disaster is one step closer to something epic.
Bad Writers Club was built on this idea: writing bravely, badly, and without judgement. That’s where the good stuff hides. That’s where your voice gets loud. And that’s why we’re stoked you’re here to mess it up, make it weird, and discover just how powerful your stories can be.

Our six-session program is designed for teens who want to create unforgettable characters, build vivid worlds, and craft stories that keep readers hooked. Whether you’re scribbling in a notebook or drafting your first novel, this course will give you the tools (and the confidence) to bring your imagination to life.

What We’ll Cover:

Weeks 1 & 2 – Main Character Energy

  • Session 1: Creating Main CHARACTERS

Discover how to build protagonists readers can’t forget. You’ll learn what makes a character tick, their wants, wounds, fears, and secrets, and how to put them at the centre of your story.
  • Session 2: Adding Drama!

Turn up the tension. Explore conflict, obstacles, and high-stakes choices that keep your audience on the edge of their seats.

Weeks 3 & 4 – World Building

  • Session 3: Building Your World

From small towns to fantasy kingdoms, every great story needs a setting that feels real. Learn how to create worlds full of detail, atmosphere, and possibility.
  • Session 4: Character Meets World

Watch sparks fly when your character collides with their environment. We’ll explore how setting shapes behaviour, choices, and story direction.

Weeks 5 & 6 – Plotting the Journey

  • Session 5: The Character Arc

What changes does your character go through? We’ll map out their transformation and the emotional beats that give your story power.
  • Session 6: Writing Scenes and Chapters

Bring it all together. You’ll learn practical techniques for structuring chapters, building momentum, and writing scenes that shine.

Why Join?

This isn’t a boring classroom – it’s a creative lab. You’ll write, share, and experiment alongside other young writers. By the end, you’ll have stronger characters, richer worlds, and a clear sense of where your story is headed.
