WANT TO BE PART OF THE NEXT ‘BIG THING’ AT BAD WRITERS CLUB?
We’re putting together Good Zine—our very first—and we’d love to hear from writers and artists of all kinds. This zine is about amplifying unheard local voices and giving you a space to share your work.
The theme is FIRSTS. Interpret it however you like. We’re open to short and long prose, poetry, anecdotes, sketches, photos, illustrations, anything that fits the theme.
While submissions aren’t limited to Bad Writers Club members or strictly residents of Melbourne’s western suburbs, it would be wonderful if you have some kind of connection to the west.
Our aim is to have the printed zine ready by March 2026, just in time for the next Footscray West Writers Fest, where we’ll celebrate with a launch and live reading for contributors. There may be a small participation fee to help cover production costs.
For now, we just want to hear from those keen to be involved. Once you reach out, we’ll arrange a time, online or in person, to chat about your ideas.
